Undefeated New Mexico Runners Kick Off 2nd Home Game of Season on Saturday January 21st

Rio Rancho, NM (January 19, 2023) – The undefeated New Mexico Runners look to extend their winning streak to 3 in a row on Saturday January 21st, 2023 as they play host to the Colorado Inferno at the Rio Rancho Events Center.

The New Mexico Runners (2-0) are having their best start in franchise history with two victories under their belt which puts them in 1st place in the Midwest Division and one of the only two undefeated teams in the league. On Saturday night, the Runners will look to douse the Colorado Inferno (0-3) who are on a 3-game losing streak.

With the impressive 11-8 victory of the team on January 7th against the Amarillo Bombers, New Mexico is making waves in the league with huge success in team chemistry. Players are showing their consistency and drive to win and make a run for the postseason. Runners forward Mehrshad Ahmadi has made it a point to turn the heads of everyone in the league with his incredible tally of 9 goals in just 2 games played. Other key notables include Vince Aragon and Luis Martinez who both have 2 goals on the season.

On Saturday January 21st, the Runners have titled the evening as “Youth Soccer Night” to pay tribute to all the youth soccer clubs and teams in the community. Youth soccer clubs have the opportunity to bring their clubs out for an evening of exciting arena soccer action with the opportunity to fundraise for their clubs by bringing friends and family to the game, and mentioning their clubs at the box office when tickets are purchased. 

Along with “Youth Soccer Night”, the Runners have extended the evening to the motorcycle community featuring the Rebels With a Cause Motorcycle Club who serve the homeless community by collecting socks and gloves. Fans can bring a pair of new gloves or socks and show it to the box office where they will save $4 on their tickets! Doors open at 3:30 PM, the Rebels With A Cause Motorcycle Club will be featured in the pregame show and kick off will take place at 5:05 PM Mountain Time.

The New Mexico Runners will host the Colorado Inferno for their 2nd home game of the season on January 21st, 2023 with a 5:05 PM kick-off at the Rio Rancho Events Center (3001 Civic Center Circle Dr. NW, Rio Rancho, NM 87144).
