The Originals Continue to Pave The Way in Season 4

Original Runners Miguel Garcia & Luis Martinez RE-SIGNED FOR 2022-23 SEASON

The "Originals" have officially returned for the New Mexico Runners' 2022-23 season in the Major Arena Soccer League 2! #5 Forward Miguel Garcia and #14 Midfielder Luis Martinez have re-signed for their 4th season with the New Mexico Runners.

Miguel Garcia has had an outstanding soccer career since he was young. A graduate of V. Sue Cleveland High School in Rio Rancho, Garcia attended Trinidad State College in Colorado where he also played. His career includes playing with the now defunct PDL Albuquerque Sol for a few seasons. 

Garcia is one of the original players that started when the Runners were established in 2018. He's played 24 games in the Major Arena Soccer League 2 with 15 goals and 12 assists in his arena soccer career. 

Also known as "Miggy", Garcia recently graduated from the Rio Rancho Fire Academy where he plans to continue his public service with the Rio Rancho Fire Department.

Luis Martinez is another original member of the New Mexico Runners organization. Since 2018, Martinez has been instrumental to the team chemistry with 32 games played in the MASL2. For reference, the Runners have played a total of 36 games in the Major Arena Soccer League. His arena soccer career boasts a total of 24 goals and 13 assists.

Martinez is a graduate of Del Norte High School and back in 2018, decided to take a chance at playing in the arena soccer realm. He was successful to be signed and has proven to still produce on the field.

Both Garcia and Martinez continue to pave the way in establishing the arena soccer game in New Mexico.

The New Mexico Runners will kick off their fourth season on the road against the Kansas Bandits December 18th. The first home match will take place on Saturday January 7th, 2023 with a 2:05 PM kick-off at the Rio Rancho Events Center (3001 Civic Center Circle Dr. NW, Rio Rancho, NM 87144). Season tickets start at $80 and can be purchased online at newmexicorunners.com.
