Runners to Play Two This Weekend

by Andres Trujillo

Rio Rancho, NM (February 6, 2019) – The New Mexico Runners (1-4) play two games this weekend. The first on the road facing the Ciudad Juarez Cuervos (7-1) in El Paso, TX on Friday night at 4:15 pm MT, then squaring off with the Colorado Rumble (2-4) at home on Sunday afternoon at 3:05 pm MT at the Santa Ana Star Center.

The midway point of the season for the Runners approaching and the Mountain Division has seen a rapid shift in rankings. This weekend's games for New Mexico will be important as the Runners can potentially jump to third place on the standings. A win against the Cuervos on Friday will tie with the Rumble for third and a win over the Rumble will secure the third position at this point in the season.

It is important for the Runners to focus and win out the remainder of the season to secure a spot in the post season.

The Runners are 0-2 against the Cuervos, but the last competitive meeting between the two teams showed a sign that this Friday's game will be even closer. After Friday's game, New Mexico will face the Cuervos one more time at home this season.

Your New Mexico Runners will face the Colorado Rumble for the first time this season on Sunday February 10th. The Rumble are coming off a 3 game losing streak as they dropped their last game on the road against the Elite.
