Runners on the Road, Face Rumble

Rio Rancho, NM (February 22, 2019) – This week in the Mountain Division, the 3rd place New Mexico Runners (3-5) play on the road facing the Colorado Rumble (2-6) in Denver, CO on Saturday night February 23, 2019 at 7:00 pm MT.

The Runners will be facing the Rumble for the second time this season looking to take their win streak to 3 games in a row.

The last time the two teams met, New Mexico bested the Rumble by a score of 14-13 at the Santa Ana Star Center and which gave them a 3rd place spot on the rankings. 

With the playoff picture still alive for the Runners, this Saturday's game will determine how much "head to head" leverage New Mexico will have in the rankings as they still have to face the Rumble, Inferno, and Cuervos this season.

New Mexico's boosted offensive is lead by Forward Jaime "Chiva" Rodriguez who has 22 goals on the season with 6 assists and 3.5 points per game average. Rodriguez has climbed to second best in the league in total points and goals scored.

Midfield/Defender Luis Fernando Martinez has proven himself to be a critical component to the team's success as he was able to pull off a hat trick against the Inferno last week as well as score a crucial goal against the Rumble in the previous week.

This Saturday's game will be focused on keeping up the tempo and outpacing the Rumble who are on a 5 game losing streak as they lost to the Elite last week.

The Runners return to the Santa Ana Star Center for their regular season home finale on Saturday March 2, 2019 with kick-off at 5:05 pm and doors opening at 4 pm. Tickets can be purchased online here, but fans can save on convenience fees by purchasing at the door (box office fees apply).
