Runners Hit the Road to Face Wings

(January 15, 2022) Wichita, KS - The New Mexico Runners hit the road to take on the Wichita Wings in Kansas on Saturday January 15th, 2022. This is the fourth road game for New Mexico this season and they are looking to ice the undefeated Wings on Saturday night.

The New Mexico Runners will face the Wichita Wings for the third time overall. Runners trail with a record of 0-2 in the series against the Wings.

The Runners have made huge strides in finding their chemistry since the first game of this season back in December 17th, 2021. New Mexico has scored a total of 48 goals in 5 games this season. This is on par with the number of goals scored in previous seasons which were 50 goals in the first 5 games of the 2019-20 season and 46 goals in the first 5 games of their inaugural 2018-19 season.

New Mexico has the offensive fire power with the likes of veterans #22 Sergio Fuentes and #11 Froilan Ramirez as well as rookie #10 Jobany Villalba. The task at hand for the Runners is the need to step up the defensive front. Head Coach Famiglietta is working the dial to find the right combination which will give the Runners squad the boost it needs.
