New Mexico Runners Kicks Off Season 2 This Saturday

Rio Rancho, NM (December 3, 2019) – Season 2 is finally here for the New Mexico Runners arena soccer team and the community is buzzing about the excitement. New Mexico is set to host the Austin Power on Saturday December 7^th at the Santa Ana Star Center in Rio Rancho at 5:15 PM.

Back at the helm is pro soccer Hall of Famer, Head Coach Steve Famiglietta returning with the goal to put a championship team together and take the top honors in the Major Arena Soccer League 2.

“I’m so excited to be back in the place where I truly belong. I started my pro career with indoor soccer and now it’s full circle to be putting together a strong and exciting team!” Says Famiglietta.

Signing announcements are being made for the squad this week and five of those names are part of the returning core including Captain and Defender Patrick Pacheco, Forward Miguel Garcia, Midfielders Luis Fernando Martinez and Jake Gandarilla, with Casey Gasson at the Goal Keeper position.

Last season was strong for the core and the numbers will be even better this season. Pacheco scored 4 goals with 2 assists last season as Defender. Garcia maintained a strong support with 7 goals and 6 assists as Martinez helped the Runners to victory last season with 2 game winning goals. Gandarilla pushed 6 goals and 9 assists as Gasson made 88 saves as well as scoring on a coast-to-coast throw.

“We are super excited to have our star core back for season 2! We are going to put out an exciting, edge of your seat product with the talent we have.” Says Team Owner and President Andres Trujillo.

The New Mexico Runners organization has been hard at work putting on an exciting production for fans and the community. With a high scoring game, fast paced action and a party atmosphere, you won’t want to miss the action.

At the first game, the first 1,000 fans through the doors will receive New Mexico Runners lanyards courtesy of the Santa Ana Star Center. Single game tickets start at only $13 and can be purchased online or at the Santa Ana Star Center box office by calling 505-891-7319.

The Runners will kick off season 2 in a matchup at home against the Austin Power. The matchup will take place on Saturday December 7^th, 2019 with a 5:15 PM kick-off at the Santa Ana Star Center (3001 Civic Center Circle Dr. NW, Rio Rancho, NM 87144). Tickets start at $13 and doors will open at 4:00 PM.
