New Additions to Runners Roster
New Mexico has signed two new players to the roster this week due to a couple of injuries reported. The Runners added Ivan Moore and Melchor Quezada to do some work in the Midfield and Forward positions going into the next home game.
A new face for the Runners is that of Ivan Moore. Moore is originally from Entebbe, Uganda and has lived most of his life in New Mexico. He currently attends Oak Grove Classical Academy and has played club with Rio Rapids as well as the Colorado Rapids Development Academy. Moore has shown that he can compete at higher levels of soccer and the Runners are excited to have him aboard the squad. Ivan is signed on as a developmental player maintaining his amateur status as an athlete.
Quezada is a New Mexico native from Albuquerque and attended Rio Grande High School. He grew up playing club for Rio and after he graduated high school, he went on to play for Luther College in Decorah, Iowa. Quezada returned home where he played in the first season of the now defunct Albuquerque Sol of the PDL. Giving back to the community is a major part of Quezada's life as he currently is in the police academy looking to work in law enforcement.
The Runners are in a 3 way race for the last 2 spots in the post season picture. New Mexico looks to get one back against the Colorado Inferno FC on Saturday February 8th, 2020. Doors open at 4 PM with a 5 PM kick off. A win this weekend will help facilitate an advantage to see their first post season.
Saturday's game is Faith & Family Night and all faith as well as church groups are invited to attend at a discounted rate of $9 per ticket (must buy at Santa Ana Star Center box office for discount).
