Faith & Family NIGHT AT THE NEW MEXICO RUNNERS 4th HOME GAME OF THE SEASON

Rio Rancho, NM (February 25th, 2023) – Your New Mexico Runners return home at the Rio Rancho Events Center on Saturday February 25th, for their 4th home game of the season. The Runners play host to the visiting Wichita Wings at 5:05 PM Mountain Time and look to equalize the matchup heading into Saturday night.

The New Mexico Runners (3-4) are looking to get one back against the Wichita Wings (5-2) with home field advantage. The last time both team met was on February 4th, 2023 where New Mexico fell short to Wichita.

Even though the Runners sit at 3rd in the Midwest standings table, they have accumulated a whopping 71 goals in just seven games on the season. Most of the take is thanks to league goal and points leader, Mehrshad Ahmadi who has 29 goals and 33 points. New Mexico has had a little bit of a rough trek with the loss of four games in a row including the latest on the road in Colorado on February 19th.

This matchup between the Runners and Wings will be one that is fast-paced, physical, and defensively intense. Last meetup resulted in Oord being given a red card, Ramirez being kicked in the face resulting in stitches, Ahmadi as well as Matute injured mid-game. On Saturday night, the tables should turn as New Mexico will be fully rostered and at full strength.

Expect to see an exciting display from newcomer Michael Stephens who has shown quick speeds to defend. With team chemistry back to par, the Runners will be focused on playing the way they did in the first three games of this season.

Coach Famiglietta has made several adjustments in the lines to ensure a well balanced gameplan.

On Saturday February 25th, the Runners are celebrating “Faith & Family Night" which is dedicated to all families and faith groups in our community. Fans can get $12 discounted tickets using the code "FAMILY" at the box office on game day. Doors will open to the public at 3:30 PM.

Faith & Family Night is stacked with fun including a mini-game between St. Pius and West Mesa High School boys varsity soccer teams at 3:40 PM, a national anthem performance by Evan Shepard, and a pre-game prayer by Gospel Light Baptist Church Pastor Brent Lenentine. During the high school soccer scrimmage, it'll be team Vince Aragon who is an assistant coach for St. Pius versus Colton Oord who is the head coach of West Mesa.

The New Mexico Runners will host the Wichita Wings for their 4th home game of the season on February 25th, 2023 with a 5:05 PM kick-off at the Rio Rancho Events Center (3001 Civic Center Circle Dr. NW, Rio Rancho, NM 87144). Doors open at 3:30 PM. Discounted tickets start at just $12 and can be purchased at the box office on game day or online at newmexicorunners.com
