Educators Appreciation Night at the New Mexico Runners 3rd Home Game of the Season

Rio Rancho, NM (January 10, 2023) – The New Mexico Runners have had a whirlwind season heading into the halfway point of season 4. On Saturday February 25th, 2023, the Runners look to catch the Kansas Bandits red-handed once again at the Rio Rancho Events Center.

With a record of 3-2, the New Mexico Runners are looking to get back on track from a series of road losses in Amarillo and Wichita the last two weeks. The Kansas Bandits are 1-5 on the season and New Mexico bested them back on December 18th, 2022.

The past two weeks have hit the Runners hard with unfortunate injuries keeping roster numbers low.There looks to be a beacon of light for this Saturday’s matchup as the squad is almost to full strength minus a couple of players. Star defender Colton Oord won’t see the field this weekend as his accumulation of fouls in Wichita left him on a one-game suspension. 

Even though a couple of players won’t see the field, the Runners are excited to be back home to put on a showcase for the fans of Rio Rancho and Albuquerque. Expect to see high scoring action from league goal scoring leader Mehrshad Ahmadi, incredible saves by Rio Rancho native goalkeeper Nate Yeager, and super exciting scoring action you won’t want to miss.

On Saturday February 11th, the Runners are paying appreciation to all educators around the community with “Educators Appreciation Night”. All teachers, school employees, and anyone who works at an educational institution gets in free with school ID or badge. Doors will open to the public at 3:30 PM.

Educators appreciation night is stacked with fun including a mini-game between Cleveland and Rio Rancho High School boys varsity soccer teams at 3:40 PM, a national anthem performance by Albuquerque Girls Choir, and a halftime dance performance by Rio Elite Dance and Cheer. 

The New Mexico Runners will host the Kansas Bandits for their 3rd home game of the season on February 11th, 2023 with a 5:05 PM kick-off at the Rio Rancho Events Center (3001 Civic Center Circle Dr. NW, Rio Rancho, NM 87144). Doors open at 3:30 PM. Tickets start at just $15 and can be purchased at the box office on game day or online at newmexicorunners.com.
