Azimi & Piroscafo Return Full Steam Ahead for Season 4

Atif Azimi & Donato Piroscafo Make a return for 2022-23 SEASON

It's full steam ahead for the Runners as #6 Midfielder/Defender Atif Azimi as well as #13 Donato Piroscafo return to the Major Arena Soccer League for their 2nd season. 

Atif Azimi is a local product who graduated from Valley High School in Albuquerque as well as played with the Rio Rapids youth soccer club. Azimi started last season with the Runners on the reserves squad. He was able to work his way into gameplay towards the end of the season where he played in the last two games of the 2021-22 season. 

Donato Piroscafo has re-signed to play for a second season with the New Mexico Runners. Piroscafo is originally from Connecticut where he attended college at Albertus Magnus in New Haven. He played in 7 games during the 2021-22 season and looks to make an impact this season as his understanding of the game has grown.

Both Azimi and Piroscafo were instrumental in helping the Runners rally towards the end of last season.

The New Mexico Runners will kick off their fourth season on the road against the Kansas Bandits December 18th. The first home match will take place on Saturday January 7th, 2023 with a 2:05 PM kick-off at the Rio Rancho Events Center (3001 Civic Center Circle Dr. NW, Rio Rancho, NM 87144). Season tickets start at $80 and can be purchased online at newmexicorunners.com.
